Abstract

Dans ce chapitre, nous rendons compte du ‘tournant matériel' qui s'amorce actuellement au sein de l'analyse institutionnelle, comme dans de nombreux autres domaines de la recherche en organisation (Jarzabkowski et Pinch, 2013). Pour cela, nous nous appuyons sur les acquis des Science and Technology Studies (STS) qui inspirent la théorie des organisations de manière générale. Nous mettons en évidence quelques éléments structurants de la théorie néoinstitutionnaliste (TNI) et des STS, pour en souligner les différences et les écarts paradigmatiques. Nous notons ensuite l'irruption de la dimension matérielle au sein du néoinstitutionnalisme et rendons compte de quelques recherches récentes s'inscrivant dans cette perspective. Finalement, nous formulons quelques pistes de recherche prometteuses pour tirer le meilleur parti de la fertilisation croisée entre la TNI et les STS.
