Abstract

Since the late 1980s, some researchers have attempted to develop a specific model of management in Africa: "African management." This model starts from the premise that the implementation of Western management methods in Africa has failed to improve the performance of African enterprises. The ineffectiveness of Western management methods in Africa is explained as the consequence of the inadequacy of Western management methods to African culture. 'African management "is considered a management model adapted to the specificities of African culture. Our thinking questions the relevance of this model as proposed by Hernandez (2007). It uses the results of field studies to discuss the relevance of the proposals of the model of the "African management."
