De l’homme malade de l’Europe au nouvel hercule de la mondialisation

Abstract

Binnen kurzem soll sich Deutschland vom « kranken Mann Europas » zum neuen « Muskelprotz » der Globalisierung entwickelt haben, zumindest den deutschen Schlagzeilen nach, die in den Jahren 2006-2007 zu lesen waren. Eine ebenso schnelle wie unerwartete Genesung wie diese muss überraschen, zumal wenn man bedenkt, dass es 2003 mit der Lebensprognose nicht zum Besten stand (Hans-Werner Sinn : Ist Deutschland noch zu retten ?) und dass noch 2005 ein Teil der ausländischen Presse den Patienten schon im Sterben wähnte. Die « Gesundheitsberichte » über die deutsche Wirtschaft, d. h. die Artikel, die diesen seltsamen Fall behandeln, müssen daher einer kritischen Prüfung unterzogen werden, um die Kohärenz eines Diskurses zu untersuchen, der von langjährigen alarmierenden Befunden zu neuerlichen Anfällen von Optimismus übergegangen ist. Aufgrund von Presseartikeln, vorwiegend aus der Wochenzeitung Die Zeit, wird hier die Krankengeschichte des deutschen Patienten wiederaufgegriffen, dann die Diagnose samt Krankheitssymptome, und schließlich die Umstände dieser Quasi Wunderheilung (verabreichte Medizin, Gesundheitszeichen, Verdienste der Ärzte), bevor der Anteil an Suggestion, bzw. Autosuggestion in dieser deutschen Krankheit, also der eigentlich diskursive Anteil, hinterfragt wird.
