Abstract

Les coopératives de consommation sont une forme d'organisation pionnière du mouvement coopératif français tel qu'il s'est constitué à partir de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle (Draperi, 2012). Les profils de coopérateurs et leurs pratiques durant les deux derniers siècles ont été documentés (Toucas et Dreyfus, 2005) mais apparaissent évoluer sous les effets conjugués d'un regain d'intérêt pour cette forme de coopérative, de l'émergence d'un nouveau profil de sociétaire, non plus ouvrier mais plutôt aisé et peu politisé, et du contexte économique néocapitaliste (Haber, 2013). La mise en tension déjà soulignée dans la mise au travail du consommateur (Dujarier, 2008) que le marketing oblige à se transformer d'un client roi à un co-producteur pose de nouveaux types de questions de recherche dans le secteur économique traditionnel. Pour les coopératives de consommation un déplacement supplémentaire s'opère d'une situation de souveraineté à une situation de partie prenante, responsable, impliquée, tenue de faire des choix impactant sa consommation et celle du groupe des sociétaires associés auquel il appartient. Ce travail fait le lien entre la littérature sur les coopératives de consommation disponible dans l'histoire sociale française et les théories de l'activité, à travers une étude de cas dans une coopérative de consommation contemporaine.
