La recherche en sciences humaines et sociales n’est toujours pas épargnée par ce que l’on nomme le sexisme ordinaire. Idées-reçues, stéréotypes et poncifs sont encore présents dans certains travaux. La rubrique Mauvais genre, que nous inaugurons dans ce numéro, a pour but d’épingler ces sophismes, malfaçons et absurdités ainsi que de déconstruire la circularité des raisonnements qui les entoure. Elle s’ouvre avec la critique d’un travail d’économistes, qui, aveuglés par leur volonté de montrer que le cycle menstruel des femmes ne peut en aucun cas être sans effet sur leur productivité, leur temps de travail et donc leur salaire, finissent par tirer des données le résultat qu’ils recherchaient fondamentalement. Si le sujet est d’un intérêt incontestable, la démarche est quant à elle indigne d’une recherche scientifique. Le sexisme ordinaire, dans notre métier, conduit à la faute professionnelle.
