Abstract

A case study assembled and analyzed 22 PPB cases covered about 13 crops from 18 countries, and showed successful PPB breeding methodologies. The innovative PPB strategy is to facilitate the formal registration of varieties, taking into account the current requirements of catalogue registration, the creation of farmers' organizations to manage plant breeding and seed production, and opening the door to recognize the farmer's rights.
