Freer international trade and the consequences for EU rural areas

Abstract

Une revue des diverses théories économiques permet de conceptualiser les différents effets que peut avoir la libéralisation des échanges sur les zones rurales, en reliant leurs caractéristiques propres à des critères de dotation factorielle, de coûts de transports et de densité de population. Malgré les différents effets contradictoire, il semble que de nombreuses zones rurales subissent des conséquences globalement plus défavorables que les zones urbaines d'une libéralisation des échanges.
