Abstract

Si l'application du développement durable à la ville semble constituer un principe inéluctable, son pilotage n'en demeure pas moins problématique. Le choix des indicateurs, base d'une réelle évaluation ne fait pas l'objet d'une unanimité. Car l'outil n'est pas neutre et les décisions en la matière orientent significativement le concept de développement durable urbain. La construction et la jeune histoire du développement durable viennent ainsi percuter les évolutions urbaines. Cette rencontre fait l'objet de questionnements relatifs à l'opérationnalisation de la démarche. En effet, les indicateurs retenus, multiples et variés montrent une grande hétérogénéité de situations dans l'application du développement durable à la ville.
