Abstract

Cet article vise à comprendre les déterminants de la performance des services de formation à la conduite et à la sécurité routières et des entreprises « école de conduite » qui les proposent ainsi qu'aux moyens de les améliorer. Ses résultats s'appuient sur des recherches menées depuis 2004 pour le compte de la Direction à la sécurité et à la circulation routières (DSCR) du ministère en charge de l'Équipement et des Transports. Dans un premier temps nous examinons les différentes dimensions de la performance du secteur de la formation à la conduite ainsi que leurs interactions. Dans un second temps, nous cherchons à comprendre comment les entreprises parviennent à concilier les différentes contraintes de leur environnement. Enfin, nous nous interrogeons sur les leviers d'action dont disposent les écoles de conduite et les pouvoirs publics pour améliorer ces performances.
