Abstract

This article proposes an analysis of competency-based management related to its rationale and the nature of the rules which it initiates in organizations. This research is based on the study of eight cases of companies from various sectors whose competency-based management practices have been categorized. Four competency "figures" are distinguished. Competency-based management practices present incompleteness represent partial modes of regulation.
