An 2000 : La croissance européenne est au rendez-vous

Abstract

La conjoncture européenne semble, elle aussi, fêter l'an 2000. Les derniers indicateurs conjoncturels confirment que la croissance en Europe a connu une forte accélération au second semestre 1999. A l'échelle mondiale, 1999 aura été une année de redémarrage de la croissance. Les économies émergentes d'Asie ont retrouvé leur dynamisme, ainsi que, dans une moindre mesure, les pays d'Europe centrale. La Russie et l'Amérique latine sortent de la récession. Surtout, le taux de croissance du PIB américain ne s'est pas éloigné du sentier de 4 % qu'il suit depuis le milieu des années 1990. Seul le Japon continue à afficher une croissance quasiment nulle, stimulée de temps à autres par des plans de relance budgétaire. Au total, l'évolution des marchés extérieurs a favorisé la reprise de l'activité en Europe (...).
