Abstract

La situation conjoncturelle de l'économie française s'est améliorée au cours du dernier trimestre et la demande intérieure s'est nettement redressée pour constituer le moteur des évolutions prévisibles en 1998. La croissance devrait se poursuivre, sans à-coup important, au cours des deux ans à venir. Depuis la récession de 1993, la France a connu une année de reprise, brutalement stoppée en 1995 par les perturbations monétaires, les augmentations d'impôts et les réductions de dépenses publiques. Concernant à la fois la France et l'ensemble de l'Europe continentale, ces réductions rapides des déficits publics visent à assurer la crédibilité de l'adoption de l'euro en 1998 (...).
