Economic gains and integrated pest management: an application to the sclerotinia and the canola crop

Abstract

Des données expérimentales agronomiques sont utilisées pour simuler certaines incidences économiques, liées à une gestion intégrée concernant le sclerotinia, qui est un champignon pouvant endommager la culture du colza. Cette gestion intégrée utilise un test de diagnostic permettant aux agriculteurs de réduire leur application de fongicide sur le colza. Des estimations des bénéfices pour les agriculteurs sont utilisées pour déterminer si oui ou non les agriculteurs adopteraient cette gestion intégrée concernant le sclérotinia. Avant 2007, les simulations montrent que l'utilisation du test de diagnostic apporte des gains économiques pour les agriculteurs proches, mais légèrement inférieurs, aux gains liés à la pratique d'une pulvérisation systématique de fongicide. Cependant, comme le prix du colza a fortement augmenté en 2007, le test de diagnostic devient beaucoup moins attrayant en 2007-2008 pour les agriculteurs par rapport à la pulvérisation systématique de fongicide.
