Abstract

This paper deals about similarities, differences and complementarities of food chain and supply chain (SC) notions, especially in their contributions to the strategy analysis. On the way and in the light of the Resource-Based View, it examines the notion of differentiation strategy, suggests the notion of distinction strategy, and enriches the SC tool. As distinction factor, the SC is worth piloting, included by SMEs. As analysis tool, it allows to grasp distinctive resources.
