Les conditions initiales de la longévité des joint ventures internationales (JVI) en Méditerranée : Etude des caractéristiques des partenaires et de la JVI

Abstract

L'objectif de cet article est d'étudier l'influence des conditions initiales et l'effet de leurs interactions sur la longévité des joint ventures internationales (JVI). Pour ce faire, nous avons choisi de nous focaliser sur d'une part, les caractéristiques des partenaires et d'autre part, sur celles de la JVI. Ces caractéristiques, prises en compte au moment de la formation de la relation, sont considérées comme des éléments déstabilisateurs influençant la durée de la relation partenariale. Afin de déterminer l'influence de ces variables, une base de données a été élaborée à partir de la presse économique répertoriant 124 JVI implantées dans les Pays du Sud et de l'Est de la Méditerranée (PSEM) et créées entre 1996 et 2003. Les résultats ont montré que le mode de constitution de la JVI (JVI créées par des investissements greenfield ou par acquisition) et le degré de similarité des activités entre le partenaire étranger et la JVI exercent une influence significative sur la longévité.
