Le développement durable à la recherche d'un corps de doctrine

Abstract

L'émergence de la notion de développement durable se révèle aujourd'hui sujette à quelques tensions au niveau de ses finalités et de ses contenus. Au plan des finalités, le débat s'organise autour d'une logique fondée sur la théorie des parties prenantes, et une logique concurrente qui mobilise une éthique de la responsabilité comme principe téléologique. Par voie de conséquence, les contenus du développement durable font également l'objet de controverses : elles semblent devoir être résolues par une dynamique de normalisation de ces contenus. Néanmoins, cette dynamique est porteuse « d'effets pervers », et elle ne peut prétendre, à elle seule, à régler ces controverses, le problème résidant pour l'essentiel dans les faiblesses doctrinales qui caractérisent aujourd'hui le développement durable
