Abstract

Rio de Janeiro (1992), Berlin (1995), Kyoto(1997), Buenos Aires (1998), Bonn (1999), La Haye (2000) les médias français se font périodiquement l'écho de conférences sur le changement climatique. Jusqu'aux bourrasques dévastatrices de la fin 1999, un esprit normalement critique pouvait y voir une gesticulation médiatique incongrue. Dans une information lacunaire, le ton circonstancié des scientifiques ne pouvait ni dominer la flamboyance d'un philosophe médiatique relayant un pamphlet faisant de l'effet de serre 'une manipulation planétaire', ni résister aux micro-trottoir du 20 heures par lesquels les français se convertirent à l'idée que les taxes sur l'essence ne servent qu'à remplir les caisses de l'Etat.
