Abstract

Schématiquement, la gestion économique de l'eau a trois types d'objectifs : l'efficience, à savoir la répartition optimale de la ressource en eau pour maximiser le bien-être collectif ; l'équité, entendue ici comme la recherche d'une diminution des inégalités sociales ; et l'équilibre budgétaire du gestionnaire. Cet article décrit les conditions nécessaires pour la bonne atteinte des objectifs pré-cités et les instruments économiques qui permettent de les atteindre.
