Capacités e-commerce et avantage compétitif : une étude empirique

Abstract

Bien que le e-commerce offre, aujourd'hui, des opportunités pour les Petites et Moyennes Entreprises, des interrogations ont été soulevées à propos de sa contribution dans l'amélioration de l'avantage compétitif de ces firmes. En menant une analyse exploratoire qui utilise la méthode des cas et en faisant explicitement référence à la théorie des ressources comme cadre d'analyse, nous cherchons à comprendre, dans ce papier, comment et dans quelles conditions le e-commerce peut améliorer la compétitivité des PME manufacturières ? Les résultats ont montré que la présence d'une infrastructure technologique intégrée, des compétences techniques et managériales en e-commerce et d'une orientation client poussée renforce la compétitivité. De plus, l'interaction de ces éléments avec d'autres ressources, comme par exemple la capacité d'intégrer le e-commerce dans la stratégie de l'entreprise et la capacité de mobiliser des ressources et compétences autour du e-commerce, procure un avantage compétitif sur les concurrents.
