Abstract

Les recherches en gestion auxquelles je participe depuis plus de trente ans s'intéressent à un phénomène fascinant : le rôle magique des chiffres et la façon dont les hommes s'enferment dans des mondes qu'ils n'ont pas vraiment voulus . Ils semblent pris comme dans une camisole, à ceci près qu'elle est invisible, ce qui en rend l'emprise d'autant plus insidieuse. Voici qu'après le monde des entreprises ou de l'Administration, la recherche se livre innocemment aux sirènes des instruments de gestion : décompte des publications, classements des revues, banques de données de citations, etc. Les chercheurs, qui revendiquent souvent leur liberté, sont en train de s'enfermer dans un système de normes et de contraintes dont ils auront du mal à se libérer.
