Abstract

L e livre que Dewey consacre à la théorie de l'enquête (Dewey, 1938, Dewey, 1993 - les citations indiquées dans ce texte « op. cit. » sont extraites de la traduction française) impressionne tant par le volume que par la densité de l'écriture. Il ne sera évidemment pas question d'en faire une synthèse exhaustive mais plutôt d'en proposer une lecture qui tente de tisser des liens avec certains courants théoriques actuellement très influents dans le champ du management des organisations, en particulier les théories du sensemaking. Nous tenterons plus généralement de souligner la fécondité des concepts pragmatistes de Dewey pour l'analyse de l'activité managériale.
