Abstract

L'évolution de la forme et du rôle des smdios est au coeur d'une compréhension nouvelle des mutations du cinéma depuis les années 1910. En s'appuyant sur l'exemple des studios niçois de la Victorine, l'article propose une lecture précise de ces stratégies propres à l'industrie du cinéma. Lorsqu'on envisage de rendre compte de l'évolution de la structure des studios depuis le début du siècle, on constate que le terme de studio désigne des configurations organisationnelles extrêmement variées selon les époques et les lieux. Rien de commun, si ce n'est le nom, entre le studio intégré, né en France avant la première guerre mondiale, ou popularisé à Hollywood à partir des années 1920, et la location de plateaux nus pratiquée par le *studio 4-murs. L'observation historique des formes organisationnelles nous a permis de dégager trois modèles de studio.
