Abstract

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is presented as the future of collaborative work in a supply chain, from product conception to its disposal. Corporate Social Responsibility traditionally has used task-oriented approaches, but, particularly for its environmental aspect, has also used lifecycle notions. Here we present a model for implementing CSR in a company that uses a PLM methodology, trying to see the opportunities that PLM presents for environmental, social and other improvements, and we try to maximize the collaboration between software and human in a PLM Information System. We proceed by keeping the model parts that can be particularly applied to the design and implementation of a PLM Information System,. A pilot questionnaire was used to collect data from companies located in the East of France, to prepare further research on the current state of the practices on PLM and PDM implementation, focusing on issues related to employee acceptance and environment. Our preliminary research results in a series of subjects to be further examined, including the need for participative goal setting and environmentally focused PLM.
