Abstract

Le processus peut apparaître comme l'Arlésienne de l'entrepreneuriat. Tous en parlent, mais peu l'ont vu. Pourtant, dès 1985, Gartner affirmait la nécessité de prendre en compte le processus pour conceptualiser le phénomène entrepreneurial. De même, Bygrave (1989, p. 21) affirme que « Entrepreneurship is a process of becoming rather than a state of being », tandis que plus récemment Fayolle (1984) ou Zahra (2007) confirment la nécessité d'aborder la recherche en entrepreneuriat sous l'angle d'un processus et qu'apparaissent des articles (Slotte-Kock et Coviello, 2010), voire des numéros spéciaux (Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, 2015 ; Journal of Business Venturing, 2015) se focalisant sur cet aspect processuel. Par-delà la multiplication des appels en faveur d'une recherche processuelle, se sont multipliées des initiatives empiriques : ainsi les programmes du Panel Study of Entrepreneurial Dynamics (PSED ; Reynolds et Curtin, 2010) ou bien celui du Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (2013) ont-ils mis le processus au cœur de leurs collectes de données et/ou de leurs modèles conceptuels.
