Abstract

C'est la mission de ceux qui sont invités à prononcer cette conférence annuelle prestigieuse que d'illustrer comment la science économique permet de guider la décision dans des situations réelles et d'orienter l'action des managers d'entreprise ou des politiciens. Par son oeuvre d'économiste, mais plus encore par son action à la tête de la plus grande entreprise publique française, Marcel Boiteux, qui a donné son nom à cet événement, a fait la preuve éblouissante de la complémentarité entre analyse économique et gestion, non seulement du point de vue des décisions engageant l'avenir d'une entreprise et parfois de la société mais aussi du point de vue de l'organisation courante de son activité.
