Abstract

L'intégration de nouvelles responsabilités sociales et environnementales est souvent appréhendée comme une opportunité économique que l'entreprise peut saisir afin d'améliorer sa position concurrentielle. L'objectif dans cet article est de questionner le caractère évident de la création de valeur économique par la responsabilité sociale et de mettre à jour les conditions pour qu'émerge une valeur partagée entre l'entreprise et la société. En s'appuyant sur la théorie des effets externes, les auteurs envisagent les stratégies qu'une entreprise peut mettre en œuvre afin que la prise en charge de ses effets externes négatifs se révèle économiquement et socialement bénéfique.
