Abstract

La notion de patrimoine peut prendre des formes trés diverses mais est toujours un construit social, résultat d'un processus de patrimonialisation. Ce processus est, d'un territoire à l'autre, trés varié. En particulier, les pouvoirs publics y jouent un rôle essentiel de coordination et d'arbitrage. A l'issue de ce processus, le patrimoine peut être un facteur important de développement local. Cet apport varie selon la géographie et l'histoire du territoire considéré. Mais, dans tous les cas, la valorisation économique du patrimoine suppose de mobiliser les ressources humaines qui lui sont liées et de diversifier ses modes de valorisation. Pour être durable, celle-ct suppose une bonne intégration des activités directement liées au patrimoine et des autres activités productives du territoire.
