Abstract

Cet article défend que la protection de la biodiversité passé par le développement économique et la mise en œuvre de régimes de droit de propriété appropriés. La première section explique pourquoi le développement économique est une condition nécessaire de la protection des écosystèmes (habitat naturel) et de la biodiversité (1). La seconde section montre le triple dividende environnemental de la mise en œuvre d'un régime de propriété adéquat (2): le développement économique qui fait de la biodiversité un bien normal, l'exclusivité qui évite la surexploitation des ressources naturelles en présence de biens en libre accès et la responsabilité qui permet de gérer les externalités négatives.
