Abstract

This paper deals with the difficulties the digital local broadcasting is presently meeting to stand out. Through the study of the audio-visual field in Midi-Pyrénées, it shows that these ones are not only of commercial or technical kind, but are also linked to the lack of a true local governance in this area. However, the analysis also point to a relative blossoming of the local channels, of which some have succeeded in developing either national or even international partnerships, or bonds with the local political institutions.
