La ideología política como determinante de la satisfacción del usuario con el sistema sanitario público

Abstract

La satisfacción es uno de los indicadores más extendidos actualmente para evaluar la calidad los sistemas sanitarios públicos. No obstante, la valoración de los usuarios puede estar modulada por sesgos ideológicos. Se sostiene que cuanta mayor es la distancia entre la orientación ideológica del individuo y la del gobierno, ambas expresadas en una escala de 1 a 10, menor será la satisfacción. Se utilizan datos del Barómetro Sanitario 2010-2013 y se elabora un modelo multinivel de regresión lineal para testar la asociación entre ambas variables. Se incluyen en el modelo otras variables de interés, como el gasto público sanitario y la nacionalidad. Se concluye que existe una relación negativa entre la distancia ideológica y la satisfacción. El gasto sanitario per cápita está asociado con la satisfacción, pero el esfuerzo que ello supone para cada región no es significativo, mientras que los españoles tienen un nivel de satisfacción considerablemente menor que los extranjeros.
