Gender Relations and Changing Forms of Employment in Europe: a Comparison of Germany, Spain, Sweden and the UK

Abstract

In the context of current employment policies in Europe this paper seeks to extend our understanding of the impact of changing forms of employment on gender relations in selected countries European, namely, Germany, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The perspective adopted is one which makes gender central to the analysis and also to the analysis and also takes account of the interaction between household and family circumstances, employers' strategies, labour market policies ans the welfare state.
