Abstract

L'utilisation des sources notariales en general, et des inventaires apres-deces en particulier, ont recemment donne lieu a plusieurs travaux remettant en cause leur valeur a l'heure d'analyser en profondeur quelques uns des aspects de la realite historique de l'Ancien Regime comme, par exemple, les niveaux de vie. Les inventaires apres-deces peuvent etre compares a des photographies, generalement tres detaillees, de tous les biens mobiliers et immobilirs composant le patrimoine d'une famille au moment de la mort de l'un de ses membres. Cependant , ils ne refletent pas le flux des revenus.
