Les enjeux des mutations récentes des groupes bancaires coopératifs français

Abstract

Les réseaux coopératifs bancaires français ont connu depuis les années 1990 de profondes mutations, qui se sont traduites tant par des restructurations internes que par des opérations de croissance externe, et qui résultent tant de contraintes que d’opportunités. Ils se sont ainsi transformés en groupes tournés vers la banque universelle, mais hybrides, puisqu’on y trouve des structures coopératives et des structures à forme de sociétés par action. Cette hybridation des groupes coopératifs n’est pas sans poser des problèmes à terme, relatifs à la détermination des objectifs du groupe et de ses entités, au conflit pour le partage de la valeur créée et du pouvoir, et à l’émergence potentielle d’une concurrence entre entités d’un même groupe. Plus généralement, cette mutation entraîne un déplacement des équilibres entre les différentes parties prenantes : managers, employés, administrateurs et sociétaires, et désormais aussi actionnaires, défi auquel les groupes bancaires coopératifs français devront répondre pour conserver leur cohésion et leur capacité à se développer.
