Una nota sobre las implicaciones del Proyecto de Real Decreto sobre centros de datos

Abstract

El propósito de esta Nota es señalar los principales problemas que plantea la nueva regulación propuesta en el PRD, tanto por sus implicaciones en términos de costes como desde la perspectiva del diseño general de la regulación del acceso a la red. Por un lado, establece unos requisitos relativos al mix eléctrico consumido que se consideran desproporcionados y de muy difícil justificación. Ello se acompaña de la exigencia simultánea de los más altos estándares en términos de eficiencia energética y del uso del agua. Por otro lado, la regulación propuesta adopta un enfoque de condicionamiento del acceso a la red eléctrica que es específico para los centros de datos y, en ese sentido, discriminatorio frente a otras actividades, aunque estas tuviesen exactamente el mismo perfil de consumo que el de los centros de datos.
