La desigualdad salarial y su evoluciÛn en Espana (1995-2002): Una exploraciÛn con datos emparejados empresa-trabajador

Abstract

El artÌculo examina la desigualdad salarial en el mercado de trabajo espanol y su evoluciÛn reciente a partir de los microdatos emparejados empresa-trabajador de las olas de 1995 y 2002 de la Encuesta de Estructura Salarial. Su uso en el an·lisis empÌrico junto con las metodologÌas propuestas por Fields (2003) y Yun (2006) permite obtener una descomposiciÛn detallada del origen tanto del nivel de desigualdad salarial como de sus cambios y, en consecuencia, desarrollar una exhaustiva evaluaciÛn empÌrica de sus determinantes. Tras identificar en la pr·ctica el grueso de su origen, se constata que tanto el nivel de desigualdad salarial como su tendencia hacia la reducciÛn con el transcurso del tiempo son fenÛmenos en los que la heterogeneidad salarial entre las empresas ejerce una influencia destacada.
