Inteligencia artificial: impacto económico, competencia y regulación

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza las principales características de la inteligencia artificial y su relevancia para la economía y la competencia. En primer lugar, se revisan sus orígenes y la evolución reciente de esta tecnología. A continuación, se examina su impacto en la infraestructura digital –en particular en los centros de datos y el consumo energético–, así como en la economía en general, a través de sus efectos potenciales sobre la productividad y el crecimiento. El artículo aborda también las implicaciones de la inteligencia artificial para la competencia. Finalmente, se analiza el marco regulatorio actualmente vigente en la Unión Europea y se compara con los enfoques adoptados en otras jurisdicciones, en particular Estados Unidos y China.
