La inversión pública en infraestructuras ferroviarias

Abstract

Este trabajo presenta una panorámica de las infraestructuras ferroviarias en España, analizando las series históricas de inversiones y stock neto de capital, así como su distribución territorial. Existen amplias diferencias en cuanto a la dotación de capital ferroviario entre las provincias españolas, y el fuerte proceso de inversión pública (principalmente en alta velocidad) no está haciendo que los distintos territorios converjan en sus dotaciones. Persisten zonas donde la movilidad por ferrocarril entre regiones cercanas es imposible por falta de líneas de conexión, como son los casos del corredor norte-sur paralelo a la frontera portuguesa (recorrido de la Autovía de la Plata), la zona sureste, o la zona norte fronteriza con el País Vasco.
