Abstract

Nous analysons la place du recyclage comme moyen de contrer l’existence de certaines externalités négatives, à savoir celles qui sont dues à l’exploitation des ressources naturelles, à leur transformation en matières premières vierges et à la production de déchets ménagers. Pour ce faire, nous choisissons un bien, le carton ondulé, qui peut être produit à l’aide d’un input vierge et d’un input recyclé. Nous tenterons de montrer s’il est possible d’appliquer une incitation au recyclage réduisant simultanément les externalités d’un processus industriel, de l’exploitation de la ressource naturelle à sa transformation, et celles qui sont dues aux déchets ménagers.
