Abstract

This paper uses data obtained from a company consciousness survey on BCP to analyze factors that are unique to companies that delay introduction of BCP, efforts in information disclosure and finance, cooperation factors with third parties. It analyzes regional factors including regional financial institutions and industrial support organizations. According to the analysis results, first, despite answering that BCPs had been formulated, only about 40% of the specific items are being implemented. Second, we found that there is a connection between a company's particular competitive advantage such as brand power / unique technological capability and their formulation of BCP. Third, as benefits that BCP has provided to companies, large companies mentioned large issues such as in CSR, evaluations from shareholders and internal management practices, while SMEs mentioned many practical benefits related to subsidies, reliable responses from financial institutions and receiving financing. Fourth, Thanks to the drawing up and renewal schedule built into the BCP process, interactions between the community collaboration and stakeholders requests and the companies implementing BCP are often incorporated into the continuing development of the companies in question, with SMEs showing the most obvious signs of the influence of those interactions.. . Fifth, in terms of finances, companies that formulate BCPs have less need for support in the form of insurance or financing from financial institutions, public support or other private funding sources than companies that do not formulate BCPs.
