De rol van ouders, binnenklasdifferentiatie en leerkrachten in financiële educatie

Abstract

We presenteren de resultaten van een grootschalig experimenteel onderzoek bij 113 Vlaamse scholen en 4342 leerlingen. Ouderbetrokkenheid, binnenklasdifferentiatie en professionalisering van leerkrachten verhogen de leereffecten van financiële educatie voor specifieke groepen van leerlingen. Ouderbetrokkenheid verhoogt de leereffecten bij leerlingen met een lage socio-economische status en leerlingen die thuis weinig over financiële onderwerpen spreken. Gedifferentieerde instructie, met bijkomende instructies voor zwakkere leerlingen, leidt tot hogere leerprestaties bij anderstalige leerlingen. Nederlandstalige leerlingen presteren even goed, ongeacht de mate van instructie. Professionalisering van leerkrachten helpt om de leerprestaties te verbeteren van specifieke leerlinggroepen, zoals weinig gemotiveerde leerlingen of leerlingen uit relatief grote klassen.
