Betaalt de taxshift zichzelf terug?

Abstract

De voorbije jaren zijn er veel jobs bijgekomen. Maar hoeveel daarvan zijn er te danken aan de taxshift? Ons simulatiemodel zondert het effect van de taxshift af van andere factoren die de jobgroei kunnen verklaren. Wij schatten dat tussen 2016 en 2020 tussen 65 000 en 92 000 bijkomende jobs te danken zijn aan de taxshift. De taxshift is niet budgetneutraal. Daardoor wordt de jobgroei overschat. De zogenaamde ‘terugverdieneffecten’ moeten niet overschat worden. De hogere BTW en accijnzen zorgen ervoor dat niet-werkenden de verliezers zijn van de taxshift.
