Abstract

The study examines changes in the self-reported health status of these ultra poor women in northern Bangladesh over a period of one and half years since the launch of the programme 'Challenging the Frontiers of Poverty Reduction: Targeting the Ultra Poor (CFPR/TUP)'. The data for this study come from a baseline survey performed in 2002 and a follow-up survey from 2004. The ultra poor women selected for the CFPR/TUP programme fared far better than those not included in the programme with better self-reported health status [BRAC WP].
