Abstract

Maharashtra Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of 2336 candidates out of 4119 candidates who are contesting in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections of 2014. The effort has been to cover most of the affidavits of the candidates from major parties (INC, BJP, MNS, Shiv Sena and NCP). The final list of candidates (Form 7A) was uploaded on the CEO’s website on the 5th of October, 2014. Due to constraints in time, the rest of the candidates’ affidavits were not analysed. The rest of the affidavits are being analysed and the report would be updated subsequently.
