Abstract

What are the critical areas in social science research and intervention which might require systematic attention to ethical issues? A national level consultation on ‘ Ethics in Social Science Research’ drew the active participation of social scientists and explored the means and methods to institutionalize ethics review mechanisms to enhance ethical content of the social science research. The consultation was jointly organised by the Centre for Social Studies (CSS), Surat, Gujarat, the Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT), Mumbai, and the Centre for Studies in Ethics and Rights (CSER), Mumbai at CSS, Surat, on December 2-3, 2005.
