La telefonía móvil: un nuevo reto para las encuestas telefónicas

Abstract

Los cambios tecnológicos producidos y la rápida adopción por parte de la población de algunas de las tecnologías emergentes, como el teléfono móvil, han impactado con fuerza en los comportamientos y usos comunicativos de ésta. Así, en una parte de los hogares españoles, el teléfono móvil ha reemplazado al fijo como la herramienta principal para la comunicación a distancia. Estos hogares presentan un perfil específico que les diferencia de aquellos que disponen de ambas tecnologías, y, en mayor medida, de los que sólo tienen teléfono fijo. La consecuencia principal de este proceso para la investigación basada en encuestas telefónicas es que, si bien la cobertura de la telefonía no ha dejado de aumentar hasta llegar a ser prácticamente universal, cada día son más los hogares excluidos del marco muestral de las encuestas por no disponer de teléfono fijo. Con este trabajo nos proponemos analizar la importancia de este fenómeno y evaluar las distintas soluciones que se han propuesto desde distintos ámbitos.
