Trapped in delusions: democracy, fairness and one-share-one-vote

Abstract

This regulatory comment by Arman Khatchaturyan argues that EC policy-makers have tried to make equiproportional representation nearly an aphorism tied to corporate egalitarian sentiments but that the proposal fails to justify the move as a value-enhancing technique for EU corporate governance. Arman Khatchaturyan (PhD) is an associate research fellow at the Centre for European Policy Studies(CEPS) and is author of One-Share-One-Vote Controversy in the EU (2006) awarded Josseph de la Vega Prize 2006 for outstanding research on the securities markets in Europe.
