Memorias del seminario internacional Inseguridad en Haití y la Construcción de Nuevos Paradigmas

Abstract

El Colegio de México y la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) organizaron el seminario internacional Inseguridad en Haití y la Construcción de Nuevos Paradigmas, en la Ciudad de México, los días 22 y 23 de octubre de 2024, con el propósito de profundizar en los desafíos críticos que enfrenta la nación caribeña. En el presente documento se resumen las intervenciones de los 26 especialistas que participaron en el seminario, sobre temáticas diversas como el análisis de las raíces históricas, socioeconómicas, geopolíticas y culturales que propician la inseguridad en Haití. El seminario fomentó reflexiones plurales sobre los posibles derroteros para romper con las narrativas fatalistas que suelen permear el análisis de Haití y los retos que aquejan el país. Se destacó el papel crucial de las instituciones académicas y civiles, para generar espacios de discusión orientados a buscar soluciones viables, así como la necesidad de impulsar investigaciones críticas y empíricas que fomenten prácticas alternativas de cooperación internacional en la implementación —tanto en Haití como en otros países— de políticas públicas sustentables en lo económico, lo social y lo político.
