Estudio económico de Centroamérica y la República Dominicana en 2023 y perspectivas para 2024

Abstract

En 2023 la economía mundial crecería un 3,0%, frente al 3,5% registrado en 2022 (véase el gráfico 1). Este menor dinamismo se explica principalmente por la desaceleración del consumo, en particular en las economías avanzadas, ante los todavía altos niveles de precios y el endurecimiento de la política monetaria, así como un menor ritmo de expansión del comercio mundial. La tasa de expansión esperada para 2023 es menor al promedio registrado entre 2010 y 2019 (3,7%). El producto interno bruto (PIB) de las economías avanzadas aumentaría solo un 1,5% en 2023, después del 2,7% registrado en 2022. Las economías emergentes y en desarrollo, por su parte, observarían una expansión del 4,0%, misma tasa que la reportada en 2022, alentadas por un dinamismo significativo de la actividad económica en China y la India.
