Descripción metodológica de la construcción de la matriz de insumo-producto de Haití 2011-2012 y su incorporación a la matriz subregional

Abstract

En el presente documento se describe el proceso de construcción de la matriz de insumo-producto de Haití, la primera de su tipo de la que se tiene conocimiento, a partir de una metodología general que hace uso de los cuadros de oferta y utilización de la contabilidad nacional. Esta metodología ha sido utilizada por la sede subregional de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) en México en años recientes en distintos ejercicios similares referidos a países de la subregión conformada por Centroamérica, México y la República Dominicana. La matriz de insumo-producto nacional de Haití y su incorporación al bloque subregional se traduce en instrumentos analíticos de suma importancia para el país. Por un lado, permitirá avanzar en la comprensión de las brechas productivas nacionales (brechas productivas verticales). Por otro, la incorporación de Haití a la matriz de insumo-producto de Centroamérica, México y la República Dominicana permitirá analizar las brechas sectoriales entre la economía haitiana y los distintos socios de la subregión (brechas productivas horizontales).
