Abstract

El documento El comercio de bienes y servicios en Centroamérica: una nueva mirada en 2013 es una actualización del documento elaborado bajo el mismo nombre en 2012. En este documento se vuelve a exponer el panorama de los principales aspectos económicos y sociales de los países centroamericanos y la República Dominicana actualizados con los datos más recientes existentes en cada tema, y se comparan algunos elementos clave de su desarrollo. Con este propósito, se analizan los nuevos pasos dados en el proceso de integración centroamericana, la evolución y los avances logrados en el comercio internacional de bienes así como la creciente importancia del comercio de servicios en esta subregión. Por último, se refuerza la identificación que se hiciera en algunos ámbitos de políticas y líneas de acción orientadas a fortalecer el sistema de integración centroamericana, de modo que mediante este conocimiento se brinde a los actores involucrados en dicho proceso la posibilidad de aprovechar espacios de acción en el mercado de los países mencionados.
